Jax was interrupted by Caine grabbing him by the ears and teleporting both of them to the lounge. He dropped Jax, gave Ragatha and Gangle a forced wave, and then teleported right back to his office.

woo!! first jawbreaker fanfic (?) I love these two!!

A small Jawbreaker (Orbsman x Gummigoo) fic. [Credit to @tboom10 for coming up with the ship name]

"So then I decided..."

"Yup. Yup. Uh-huh.", Gummigoo said as he continued to stare at Orbsman across the table with a faint smile on his face.

If he was being honest with himself, Gummigoo didn't really care all that much about what his boyfriend was talking about at all. He was just happy to hear his voice, and that was all that mattered to him.

Suddenly, he felt something brush up against his shoulder. He turned around in his seat and saw Gangle standing there with the tragedy mask she usually wore.

"Eh? Whaddaya want?"

"Umm...would you mind telling him to...be quiet for a little bit? I-its been a little since we've gotten any silence.", Gangle asked.

"Huh? Now what makes you say that?"

"Just look..."

Gummigoo took a look around the circus and saw everyone standing around and walking by with very annoyed expressions on their faces. Meanwhile, Pomni was banging her head against the wall, and Loolilalu was gripping her scepter extremely tightly with a twitching eyelid.

"Whatcha talking about? They seem pretty fine to me! Now get outta here, I got more important things to do.", Gummigoo said while nonchalantly shrugging his shoulders.

"But-"

"That's it! I can't take this $#&% anymore! I guess I'll just have to deal with this nuisance myself!", Loolilalu shouted as she charged at Orbsman with her scepter.

"Get me in on this. Maybe we can even play a game of basketball after this.", Jax said before running with her.

"Jax! Give me back my arm before I have to strangle you with it again!", Zooble shouted in the distance.

"Well, ain't this sumthin'? Welp, sorry ribbon girl, but I'm gonna need your help for this.", Gummigoo said.

"Wait, what do you-"

Gummigoo then grabbed Gangle and stretched her out before tying her lower body into a hoop. He then spun the makeshift lasso in the air before throwing it around Jax and Loolialu and tightening it around their ankles.

The two stumbled and fell into each other before they continued rolling towards them in a ball. With one swift movement, Gummigoo whipped the lasso to the left, sending the rolling duo in that direction with Gangle as well when he let go of her.

"Hm? Gummy, did you say something?", Orbsman asked, somehow having not noticed this entire ordeal.

"Nuthin', luv. Go on, I wanna hear more of what you have to say.", Gummigoo said, turning to face his boyfriend again with a faint smile once again.

"Oh, okay then! So, as I was saying..."

O! Okay! I just got a lil bit spooked since people have been mentioning how tumblr eats up asks and leaves no crumbs more frequently. i dont normally go out of my way to go to asks unless i am in the mood for socialization and even then i scurry away after sending it like i just sent a breakup text to a toxic gf in middle school, so my ass would Not be Exited if it was eaten.

Things not really changing can be Not Great, you just have to find the balance. It can get too much and just repetitive, i know. It's great that you have clear limits on such things:]

You know.. i would show some resistance just for the sake of keeping up a play, but who would i be kidding? Skeletons are hot as fu Itward is a very nice gentleman AND he's a mechanic!!! Dream man

I actually am a little writer myself, althrough my works are not full-out fics like i tried to once force myself to do, i really try to make them good, even when i am writing for myself. Just little oneshots and snippets for a bigger story.. i think i have at least somewhat nice way with words, plus always a few ideas cooking up, but something just keeps me from putting them out. Perfectionism and fear, mostly.

Perfectionism sucks, and although this is not something you have mentioned; I feel sometimes people are too mean or picky with their fanfic, and this leads to them being rather rude to a fic writer

I.E. demanding something, slamming the writing for not being to their tastes, complaining that theres nothing for their favorite character or media or an idea they want, ect ect I think that also feeds into perfectionism; at least for me.. makes it feel like I need to make it s tier material

Caine shook his head, grin widening as he turned back to the players. They all were looking at him, expressions a bit hard to read. Understandable, totally understandable. He was the ringmaster after all, and intervening on their adventure… truly poor behavior if he said so himself.

Honestly, I’m tempted to write a short Ragatha story (like really short) just about what happens when she reaches her limit and how much cruelty she can take. Gangle’s definitely had a really really hard time and so have all of them really but Ragatha just seems really fun to write in a short story. But I’ve already kinda got that covered in the main fanfic so it’d likely be a waste of time lol

On a very different note, have a Ragatha being her wonderful self (can you tell I seriously adore Ragatha?)

Caine gripped his baton tightly, forcing a smile. “Th–thank you for the feedback Zooble! I’ll be sure to take that to note. I’ll take you back now, have a terrific night!” Not allowing Zooble a chance to speak, Caine darted over, grabbing Zooble’s arm and bringing them both to the lounge.

I freaking love Caine and Gangle being friends. It’s just so sweetttt!! Gangle’s shy and nervous and kind and Caine is loud and boisterous and trying his best. Together it’s just so fun to write.

A small whimper escaped his companion as she slowly lifted her head. The tears on her wide-eyed tragedy mask were still streaming down, leaving little marks on the chair she was huddled in.

Reaching out from across the desk, Caine tried to hand her the mask. “I have a few questions for any improvements you have for the circus or the adventures! And, of course, to give you your new mask, my dear!”

Lifting a hand, Jax started to examine his glove. “Oh you know, the typical. Just average girl drama: odd looks, passive aggressive phrasing, you know, the usual, when they go on adventures.” He looked over at Caine, “but I wouldn’t worry about it yet. Not like Pomni’s about to abstract or anything already.” 

Tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap. 

Caine looked down. His finger was stupidly tapping against the baton again. Dropping the baton, he quickly curled his hand into a fist, keeping it still. 

“Oh, and Kinger’s been leaving his fort less and less. He’s been a bit too quiet in my opinion. Maybe you should check on him once in a while.” he rested his head on his hands, looking up at Caine. “Ya know, just to make sure everything’s fine.”

I'm undetermined on if I like writing Kinger, but i do love the idea of guilt ridden Kinger.

Kinger lifted a hand to his head, wincing. Was it just him, or was the light growing brighter? It felt…. Brighter. Too bright. 

She was yelling. Roaring. He hadn’t been there. Oh, she hated him now, didn’t she? She should hate him. His Queenie… he’d done this. He’d….

Kinger shook his head, looking around. It was dark now. Oh so, wonderfully dark. The oppressive light had gone, taking with it the clear edges and details of the environment around him. … Good. He’d rather the blurred world.

Final snippet for now enjoy some Kinger and Caine interaction! I love Kinger being a paternal figure for Caine, but I couldn’t really see it in this story exactly yet? Maybe it will randomly change as things often do but for now I think the two just were friends.

Looking down at his baton, Caine forcibly relaxed his grip on it. The players’ adventure had likely been ruined by his interruption and he hadn’t gotten nearly the answers he required. But, it was fine! Absolutely fine. The list was just too short. 63 questions couldn’t even scratch the surface of the necessary feedback. Yeah. That was all. It’d be fine.
